New robots from Charles University introduced at Viaduct Karlín

The public had the opportunity to glimpse into the future of robotics right at Viaduct Karlín. As part of an event organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University, new robotic systems from the project Advanced AI Techniques for Autonomous Robots, led by Prof. Stefan Edelkamp.

Visitors could familiarize themselves with five robots – three humanoid and two robotic dogs. These state-of-the-art machines were acquired thanks to a grant Donatio Universitatis Carolinae Chair and now serve as a research platform in the Robotics Laboratory of the Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic.

Although the robots are currently remotely controlled, the project's goal is to develop their fully autonomous behavior and mutual coordination in completing tasks.

More information about the research can be found on the YouTube channel ROSSUM Robot Lab.
